The Roots
Business Network International is founded in 1985 by Dr Ivan Misner. It is a referral Organisation whereby business professionals of various trades come together to form groups which we call Chapter
.
Each Chapter can only have one unique trade, i.e, one lawyer, one real estate agent, one insurance agent, one photographer and so on. In this way, we cut out competition and everyone collaborates by bringing business referrals to each other exclusively.
By December 2017, BNI has grown from its humble beginnings into a mammoth organisation spanning 73 countries, over 8200 chapters and over 227,000 members. BNI members generated a total of 9.5 million referrals worth a total of US$13.8 Billion for each other.
